And Jesus went out, and departed from the temple: and his disciples came to [him] to show him the buildings of the temple. 1 Jesus left the temple and was walking away when his disciples came up to him to call his attention to its buildings.
And Jesus said to them, See ye not all these things? verily I say to you, There shall not be left here one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down. 2 "Do you see all these things?" he asked. "I tell you the truth, not one stone here will be left on another; every one will be thrown down."
And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came to him privately, saying, Tell us, when will these things be? and what [will be] the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world? 3 As Jesus was sitting on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to him privately. "Tell us," they said, "when will this happen, and what will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the age?"
And Jesus answered and said to them, Take heed that no man deceive you. 4 Jesus answered: "Watch out that no one deceives you.
For many will come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and will deceive many. 5 For many will come in my name, claiming, 'I am the Christ, ' and will deceive many.
And ye will hear of wars, and rumors of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all [these things] must come to pass, but the end is not yet. 6 You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come.
For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there will be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes in divers places. 7 Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places.
All these [are] the beginning of sorrows. 8 All these are the beginning of birth pains.
Then will they deliver you up to be afflicted, and will kill you: and ye will be hated by all nations for my name's sake. 9 "Then you will be handed over to be persecuted and put to death, and you will be hated by all nations because of me.
And then will many be offended, and will betray one another, and will hate one another. 10 At that time many will turn away from the faith and will betray and hate each other,
And many false prophets will rise, and will deceive many. 11 and many false prophets will appear and deceive many people.
And because iniquity will abound, the love of many will become cold. 12 Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold,
But he that shall endure to the end, the same shall be saved. 13 but he who stands firm to the end will be saved.
And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world, for a testimony to all nations; and then shall the end come. 14 And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.
When therefore ye shall see the abomination of desolation spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoever readeth, let him understand,) 15 "So when you see standing in the holy place 'the abomination that causes desolation,' spoken of through the prophet Daniel--let the reader understand--
Then let them who are in Judea flee to the mountains: 16 then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains.
Let him who is on the house-top not come down to take any thing out of his house: 17 Let no one on the roof of his house go down to take anything out of the house.
Neither let him who is in the field return back to take his clothes. 18 Let no one in the field go back to get his cloak.
And woe to them that are with child, and to them that nurse infants in those days! 19 How dreadful it will be in those days for pregnant women and nursing mothers!
But pray ye that your flight may not be in the winter, neither on the sabbath: 20 Pray that your flight will not take place in winter or on the Sabbath.
For then shall be great tribulation, such as hath not been since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be. 21 For then there will be great distress, unequaled from the beginning of the world until now--and never to be equaled again.
And except those days should be shortened, there would no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened. 22 If those days had not been cut short, no one would survive, but for the sake of the elect those days will be shortened.
Then if any man shall say to you, Lo, here [is] Christ, or there; believe [it] not. 23 At that time if anyone says to you, 'Look, here is the Christ!' or, 'There he is!' do not believe it.
For false Christs will arise, and false prophets, and will show great signs and wonders; so that, if [it were] possible, they would deceive the very elect. 24 For false Christs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and miracles to deceive even the elect--if that were possible.
Behold, I have told you before. 25 See, I have told you ahead of time.
Wherefore, if they shall say to you, Behold, he is in the desert; go not forth: behold, [he is] in the secret chambers; believe [it] not. 26 "So if anyone tells you, 'There he is, out in the desert,' do not go out; or, 'Here he is, in the inner rooms,' do not believe it.
For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even to the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. 27 For as lightning that comes from the east is visible even in the west, so will be the coming of the Son of Man.
For wherever the carcass is, there will the eagles be collected. 28 Wherever there is a carcass, there the vultures will gather.
Immediately after the tribulation of those days, shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken: 29 "Immediately after the distress of those days " 'the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from the sky, and the heavenly bodies will be shaken.'
And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. 30 "At that time the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky, and all the nations of the earth will mourn. They will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of the sky, with power and great glory.
And he will send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other. 31 And he will send his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of the heavens to the other.
Now learn a parable of the fig-tree; When its branch is yet tender and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer [is] nigh: 32 "Now learn this lesson from the fig tree: As soon as its twigs get tender and its leaves come out, you know that summer is near.
So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, [even at] the doors. 33 Even so, when you see all these things, you know that it is near, right at the door.
Verily I say to you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things shall be fulfilled. 34 I tell you the truth, this generation will certainly not pass away until all these things have happened.
Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away. 35 Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.
But of that day and hour knoweth no [man], no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only. 36 "No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.
But as the days of Noah [were], so will also the coming of the Son of man be. 37 As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man.
For as in the days that were before the flood, they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark, 38 For in the days before the flood, people were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, up to the day Noah entered the ark;
And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away: so also will be the coming of the Son of man. 39 and they knew nothing about what would happen until the flood came and took them all away. That is how it will be at the coming of the Son of Man.
Then will two be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left. 40 Two men will be in the field; one will be taken and the other left.
Two [women will be] grinding at the mill; the one shall be taken, and the other left. 41 Two women will be grinding with a hand mill; one will be taken and the other left.
Watch therefore; for ye know not what hour your Lord cometh. 42 "Therefore keep watch, because you do not know on what day your Lord will come.
But know this, that if the master of the house knew in what watch the thief would come, he would watch, and would not suffer his house to be broken up. 43 But understand this: If the owner of the house had known at what time of night the thief was coming, he would have kept watch and would not have let his house be broken into.
Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not, the Son of man cometh. 44 So you also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him.
Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his Lord hath made ruler over his household, to give them food in due season? 45 "Who then is the faithful and wise servant, whom the master has put in charge of the servants in his household to give them their food at the proper time?
Blessed [is] that servant, whom his lord, when he cometh, shall find so doing. 46 It will be good for that servant whose master finds him doing so when he returns.
Verily I say to you, that he will make him ruler over all his goods. 47 I tell you the truth, he will put him in charge of all his possessions.
But if that evil servant shall say in his heart, My Lord delayeth his coming; 48 But suppose that servant is wicked and says to himself, 'My master is staying away a long time,'
And shall begin to beat [his] fellow-servants, and to eat and drink with the drunken; 49 and he then begins to beat his fellow servants and to eat and drink with drunkards.
The Lord of that servant will come in a day when he looketh not for [him], and in an hour that he is not aware of, 50 The master of that servant will come on a day when he does not expect him and at an hour he is not aware of.
And will cut him asunder, and appoint [him] his portion with the hypocrites: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth. 51 He will cut him to pieces and assign him a place with the hypocrites, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
