And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying: 1 The LORD said to Moses,
Speak to the children of Israel and thou shalt say to them: When you shall be come unto the land of your habitation, which I will give you, 2 "Speak to the Israelites and say to them: 'After you enter the land I am giving you as a home
And shall make an offering to the Lord, for a holocaust, or a victim, paying your vows, or voluntarily offering gifts, or in your solemnities burning a sweet savour unto the Lord, of oxen or of sheep: 3 and you present to the LORD offerings made by fire, from the herd or the flock, as an aroma pleasing to the LORD --whether burnt offerings or sacrifices, for special vows or freewill offerings or festival offerings--
Whosoever immolateth the victim, shall offer a sacrifice of fine flour, the tenth part of an ephi, tempered with the fourth part of a hin of oil: 4 then the one who brings his offering shall present to the LORD a grain offering of a tenth of an ephah of fine flour mixed with a quarter of a hin of oil.
And he shall give the same measure of wine to pour out in libations for the holocaust or for the victim. For every lamb, 5 With each lamb for the burnt offering or the sacrifice, prepare a quarter of a hin of wine as a drink offering.
And for every ram there shall be a sacrifice of flour of two tenths, which shall be tempered with the third part of a hin of oil: 6 " 'With a ram prepare a grain offering of two-tenths of an ephah of fine flour mixed with a third of a hin of oil,
And he shall offer the third part the same measure of wine for the libation, for a sweet savour to the Lord. 7 and a third of a hin of wine as a drink offering. Offer it as an aroma pleasing to the LORD.
But when thou offerest a holocaust or sacrifice of oxen, to fulfil thy vow or for victims of peace offerings, 8 " 'When you prepare a young bull as a burnt offering or sacrifice, for a special vow or a fellowship offering to the LORD,
Thou shalt give for every ox three tenths of flour tempered with half a hin of oil, 9 bring with the bull a grain offering of three-tenths of an ephah of fine flour mixed with half a hin of oil.
And wine for libations of the same measure, for an offering of most sweet savour to the Lord. 10 Also bring half a hin of wine as a drink offering. It will be an offering made by fire, an aroma pleasing to the LORD.
Thus shalt thou do 11 Each bull or ram, each lamb or young goat, is to be prepared in this manner.
For every ox and ram and lamb and kid. 12 Do this for each one, for as many as you prepare.
Both they that are born in the land, and the strangers 13 " 'Everyone who is native-born must do these things in this way when he brings an offering made by fire as an aroma pleasing to the LORD.
Shall offer sacrifices after the same rite. 14 For the generations to come, whenever an alien or anyone else living among you presents an offering made by fire as an aroma pleasing to the LORD, he must do exactly as you do.
There shall be all one law and judgment both for you and for them who are strangers in the land. 15 The community is to have the same rules for you and for the alien living among you; this is a lasting ordinance for the generations to come. You and the alien shall be the same before the LORD:
And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying: 16 The same laws and regulations will apply both to you and to the alien living among you.' "
Speak to the children of Israel, and thou shalt say to them: 17 The LORD said to Moses,
When you are come into the land which I will give you, 18 "Speak to the Israelites and say to them: 'When you enter the land to which I am taking you
And shall eat of the bread of that country, you shall separate firstfruits to the Lord, 19 and you eat the food of the land, present a portion as an offering to the LORD.
Of the things you eat. As you separate firstfruits of your barnfloors: 20 Present a cake from the first of your ground meal and present it as an offering from the threshing floor.
So also shall you give firstfruits of your dough to the Lord. 21 Throughout the generations to come you are to give this offering to the LORD from the first of your ground meal.
And if through ignorance you omit any of these things, which the Lord hath spoken to Moses, 22 " 'Now if you unintentionally fail to keep any of these commands the LORD gave Moses--
And by him hath commanded you from the day that he began to command and thenceforward, 23 any of the LORD's commands to you through him, from the day the LORD gave them and continuing through the generations to come--
And the multitude have forgotten to do it: they shall offer a calf out of the herd, a holocaust for a most sweet savour to the Lord, and the sacrifice and libations thereof, as the ceremonies require, and a buck goat for sin: 24 and if this is done unintentionally without the community being aware of it, then the whole community is to offer a young bull for a burnt offering as an aroma pleasing to the LORD, along with its prescribed grain offering and drink offering, and a male goat for a sin offering.
And the priest shall pray for all the multitude of the children of Israel: and it shall be forgiven them, because they sinned ignorantly, offering notwithstanding a burnt offering to the Lord for themselves and for their sin and their Ignorance: 25 The priest is to make atonement for the whole Israelite community, and they will be forgiven, for it was not intentional and they have brought to the LORD for their wrong an offering made by fire and a sin offering.
And it shall be forgiven all the people of the children of Israel: and the strangers that sojourn among them: because it is the fault of all the people through ignorance. 26 The whole Israelite community and the aliens living among them will be forgiven, because all the people were involved in the unintentional wrong.
But if one soul shall sin ignorantly, he shall offer a she goat of a year old for his sin. 27 " 'But if just one person sins unintentionally, he must bring a year-old female goat for a sin offering.
And the priest shall pray for him, because he sinned ignorantly before the Lord: and he shall obtain his pardon, and it shall be forgiven him. 28 The priest is to make atonement before the LORD for the one who erred by sinning unintentionally, and when atonement has been made for him, he will be forgiven.
The same law shall be for all that sin by ignorance, whether they be natives or strangers. 29 One and the same law applies to everyone who sins unintentionally, whether he is a native-born Israelite or an alien.
But the soul that committeth any thing through pride, whether he be born in the land or a stranger (because he hath been rebellious against the Lord) shall be cut off from among his people: 30 " 'But anyone who sins defiantly, whether native-born or alien, blasphemes the LORD, and that person must be cut off from his people.
For he hath contemned the word of the Lord, and made void his precept: therefore shall he be destroyed, and shall bear his iniquity. 31 Because he has despised the LORD's word and broken his commands, that person must surely be cut off; his guilt remains on him.' "
And it came to pass, when the children of Israel were in the wilderness, and had found a man gathering sticks on the sabbath day, 32 While the Israelites were in the desert, a man was found gathering wood on the Sabbath day.
That they brought him to Moses and Aaron and the whole multitude. 33 Those who found him gathering wood brought him to Moses and Aaron and the whole assembly,
And they put him into prison, not knowing what they should do with him. 34 and they kept him in custody, because it was not clear what should be done to him.
And the Lord said to Moses: Let that man die, let all the multitude stone him without the camp. 35 Then the LORD said to Moses, "The man must die. The whole assembly must stone him outside the camp."
And when they had brought him out, they stoned him, and he died as the Lord had commanded. 36 So the assembly took him outside the camp and stoned him to death, as the LORD commanded Moses.
The Lord also said to Moses: 37 The LORD said to Moses,
Speak to the children of Israel, and thou shalt tell them to make to themselves fringes in the corners of their garments, putting in them ribands of blue: 38 "Speak to the Israelites and say to them: 'Throughout the generations to come you are to make tassels on the corners of your garments, with a blue cord on each tassel.
That when they shall see them, they may remember all the commandments of the Lord, and not follow their own thoughts and eyes going astray after divers things, 39 You will have these tassels to look at and so you will remember all the commands of the LORD, that you may obey them and not prostitute yourselves by going after the lusts of your own hearts and eyes.
But rather being mindful of the precepts of the Lord, may do them and be holy to their God. 40 Then you will remember to obey all my commands and will be consecrated to your God.
I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, that I might be your God. 41 I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of Egypt to be your God. I am the LORD your God.' "
