Complete Jewish Bible (CJB) New International Version (NIV)
How blessed are those who reject the advice of the wicked, don't stand on the way of sinners or sit where scoffers sit! 1 Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked or stand in the way of sinners or sit in the seat of mockers.
Their delight is in ADONAI's Torah; on his Torah they meditate day and night. 2 But his delight is in the law of the LORD, and on his law he meditates day and night.
They are like trees planted by streams -they bear their fruit in season, their leaves never wither, everything they do succeeds. 3 He is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither. Whatever he does prospers.
Not so the wicked, who are like chaff driven by the wind. 4 Not so the wicked! They are like chaff that the wind blows away.
For this reason the wicked won't stand up to the judgment, nor will sinners at the gathering of the righteous. 5 Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the assembly of the righteous.
For ADONAI watches over the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked is doomed. 6 For the LORD watches over the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked will perish.
