The Message (MSG) New International Version (NIV)
I'm ready, God, so ready, ready from head to toe. Ready to sing, ready to raise a God-song: 1 My heart is steadfast, O God; I will sing and make music with all my soul.
"Wake, soul! Wake, lute! Wake up, you sleepyhead sun!" 2 Awake, harp and lyre! I will awaken the dawn.
I'm thanking you, God, out in the streets, singing your praises in town and country. 3 I will praise you, O LORD, among the nations; I will sing of you among the peoples.
The deeper your love, the higher it goes; every cloud's a flag to your faithfulness. 4 For great is your love, higher than the heavens; your faithfulness reaches to the skies.
Soar high in the skies, O God! Cover the whole earth with your glory! 5 Be exalted, O God, above the heavens, and let your glory be over all the earth.
And for the sake of the one you love so much, reach down and help me - answer me! 6 Save us and help us with your right hand, that those you love may be delivered.
That's when God spoke in holy splendor: "Brimming over with joy, I make a present of Shechem, I hand out Succoth Valley as a gift. 7 God has spoken from his sanctuary: "In triumph I will parcel out Shechem and measure off the Valley of Succoth.
Gilead's in my pocket, to say nothing of Manasseh. Ephraim's my hard hat, Judah my hammer. 8 Gilead is mine, Manasseh is mine; Ephraim is my helmet, Judah my scepter.
Moab's a scrub bucket - I mop the floor with Moab, Spit on Edom, rain fireworks all over Philistia." 9 Moab is my washbasin, upon Edom I toss my sandal; over Philistia I shout in triumph."
Who will take me to the thick of the fight? Who'll show me the road to Edom? 10 Who will bring me to the fortified city? Who will lead me to Edom?
You aren't giving up on us, are you, God? refusing to go out with our troops? 11 Is it not you, O God, you who have rejected us and no longer go out with our armies?
Give us help for the hard task; human help is worthless. 12 Give us aid against the enemy, for the help of man is worthless.
In God we'll do our very best; he'll flatten the opposition for good. 13 With God we will gain the victory, and he will trample down our enemies.
