The Darby Translation (DBY) New International Version (NIV)
{To the chief Musician. A Psalm of David.} How long, Jehovah, wilt thou forget me for ever? how long wilt thou hide thy face from me? 1 How long, O LORD? Will you forget me forever? How long will you hide your face from me?
How long shall I take counsel in my soul, with sorrow in my heart daily? how long shall mine enemy be exalted over me? 2 How long must I wrestle with my thoughts and every day have sorrow in my heart? How long will my enemy triumph over me?
Consider, answer me, O Jehovah my God! lighten mine eyes, lest I sleep the [sleep of] death; 3 Look on me and answer, O LORD my God. Give light to my eyes, or I will sleep in death;
Lest mine enemy say, I have prevailed against him! [lest] mine adversaries be joyful when I am moved. 4 my enemy will say, "I have overcome him," and my foes will rejoice when I fall.
As for me, I have confided in thy loving-kindness; my heart shall be joyful in thy salvation. 5 But I trust in your unfailing love; my heart rejoices in your salvation.
I will sing unto Jehovah, for he hath dealt bountifully with me. 6 I will sing to the LORD, for he has been good to me.
