Holman Christian Standard (CSB) New International Version (NIV)
The fool says in his heart, "God does not exist." They are corrupt; their actions are revolting. There is no one who does good. 1 The fool says in his heart, "There is no God." They are corrupt, their deeds are vile; there is no one who does good.
The Lord looks down from heaven on the human race to see if there is one who is wise, one who seeks God. 2 The LORD looks down from heaven on the sons of men to see if there are any who understand, any who seek God.
All have turned away; all alike have become corrupt. There is no one who does good, not even one. 3 All have turned aside, they have together become corrupt; there is no one who does good, not even one.
Will evildoers never understand? They consume my people as they consume bread; they do not call on the Lord. 4 Will evildoers never learn-- those who devour my people as men eat bread and who do not call on the LORD?
Then they will be filled with terror, for God is with those who are righteous. 5 There they are, overwhelmed with dread, for God is present in the company of the righteous.
You [sinners] frustrate the plans of the afflicted, but the Lord is his refuge. 6 You evildoers frustrate the plans of the poor, but the LORD is their refuge.
Oh, that Israel's deliverance would come from Zion! When the Lord restores His captive people, Jacob will rejoice; Israel will be glad. 7 Oh, that salvation for Israel would come out of Zion! When the LORD restores the fortunes of his people, let Jacob rejoice and Israel be glad!
