The Darby Translation (DBY) New International Version (NIV)
Hallelujah! Sing unto Jehovah a new song; [sing] his praise in the congregation of the godly. 1 Praise the LORD. Sing to the LORD a new song, his praise in the assembly of the saints.
Let Israel rejoice in his Maker; let the sons of Zion be joyful in their King. 2 Let Israel rejoice in their Maker; let the people of Zion be glad in their King.
Let them praise his name in the dance; let them sing psalms unto him with the tambour and harp. 3 Let them praise his name with dancing and make music to him with tambourine and harp.
For Jehovah taketh pleasure in his people; he beautifieth the meek with salvation. 4 For the LORD takes delight in his people; he crowns the humble with salvation.
Let the godly exult in glory; let them shout for joy upon their beds. 5 Let the saints rejoice in this honor and sing for joy on their beds.
Let the high praises of God be in their mouth, and a two-edged sword in their hand: 6 May the praise of God be in their mouths and a double-edged sword in their hands,
To execute vengeance against the nations, [and] punishment among the peoples; 7 to inflict vengeance on the nations and punishment on the peoples,
To bind their kings with chains, and their nobles with fetters of iron; 8 to bind their kings with fetters, their nobles with shackles of iron,
To execute upon them the judgment written. This honour have all his saints. Hallelujah! 9 to carry out the sentence written against them. This is the glory of all his saints. Praise the LORD.
