The Darby Translation (DBY) New International Version (NIV)
{Michtam of David.} Preserve me, O God: for I trust in thee. 1 Keep me safe, O God, for in you I take refuge.
Thou [my soul] hast said to Jehovah, Thou art the Lord: my goodness [extendeth] not to thee; -- 2 I said to the LORD, "You are my Lord; apart from you I have no good thing."
To the saints that are on the earth, and to the excellent [thou hast said], In them is all my delight. 3 As for the saints who are in the land, they are the glorious ones in whom is all my delight.
Their sorrows shall be multiplied that hasten after another: their drink-offerings of blood will I not offer, and I will not take up their names into my lips. 4 The sorrows of those will increase who run after other gods. I will not pour out their libations of blood or take up their names on my lips.
Jehovah is the portion of mine inheritance and of my cup: thou maintainest my lot. 5 LORD, you have assigned me my portion and my cup; you have made my lot secure.
The lines are fallen unto me in pleasant places; yea, I have a goodly heritage. 6 The boundary lines have fallen for me in pleasant places; surely I have a delightful inheritance.
I will bless Jehovah, who giveth me counsel; even in the nights my reins instruct me. 7 I will praise the LORD, who counsels me; even at night my heart instructs me.
I have set Jehovah continually before me; because [he is] at my right hand, I shall not be moved. 8 I have set the LORD always before me. Because he is at my right hand, I will not be shaken.
Therefore my heart rejoiceth, and my glory exulteth; my flesh moreover shall dwell in hope. 9 Therefore my heart is glad and my tongue rejoices; my body also will rest secure,
For thou wilt not leave my soul to Sheol, neither wilt thou allow thy Holy One to see corruption. 10 because you will not abandon me to the grave, nor will you let your Holy One see decay.
Thou wilt make known to me the path of life: thy countenance is fulness of joy; at thy right hand are pleasures for evermore. 11 You have made known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand.
