Holman Christian Standard (CSB) New International Version (NIV)
Lord, the king finds joy in Your strength. How greatly he rejoices in Your victory! 1 O LORD, the king rejoices in your strength. How great is his joy in the victories you give!
You have given him his heart's desire and have not denied the request of his lips. Selah 2 You have granted him the desire of his heart and have not withheld the request of his lips. "Selah"
For You meet him with rich blessings; You place a crown of pure gold on his head. 3 You welcomed him with rich blessings and placed a crown of pure gold on his head.
He asked You for life, and You gave it to him- length of days forever and ever. 4 He asked you for life, and you gave it to him-- length of days, for ever and ever.
His glory is great through Your victory; You confer majesty and splendor on him. 5 Through the victories you gave, his glory is great; you have bestowed on him splendor and majesty.
You give him blessings forever; You cheer him with joy in Your presence. 6 Surely you have granted him eternal blessings and made him glad with the joy of your presence.
For the king relies on the Lord; through the faithful love of the Most High he is not shaken. 7 For the king trusts in the LORD; through the unfailing love of the Most High he will not be shaken.
Your hand will capture all your enemies; your right hand will seize those who hate you. 8 Your hand will lay hold on all your enemies; your right hand will seize your foes.
You will make them [burn] like a fiery furnace when you appear; the Lord will engulf them in His wrath, and fire will devour them. 9 At the time of your appearing you will make them like a fiery furnace. In his wrath the LORD will swallow them up, and his fire will consume them.
You will wipe their descendants from the earth and their offspring from the human race. 10 You will destroy their descendants from the earth, their posterity from mankind.
Though they intend to harm you and devise a wicked plan, they will not prevail. 11 Though they plot evil against you and devise wicked schemes, they cannot succeed;
Instead, you will put them to flight when you aim your bow at their faces. 12 for you will make them turn their backs when you aim at them with drawn bow.
Be exalted, Lord, in Your strength; we will sing and praise Your might. 13 Be exalted, O LORD, in your strength; we will sing and praise your might.
