Holman Christian Standard (CSB) New International Version (NIV)
Rejoice in the Lord, you righteous ones; praise from the upright is beautiful. 1 Sing joyfully to the LORD, you righteous; it is fitting for the upright to praise him.
Praise the Lord with the lyre; make music to Him with a ten-stringed harp. 2 Praise the LORD with the harp; make music to him on the ten-stringed lyre.
Sing a new song to Him; play skillfully on the strings, with a joyful shout. 3 Sing to him a new song; play skillfully, and shout for joy.
For the word of the Lord is right, and all His work is trustworthy. 4 For the word of the LORD is right and true; he is faithful in all he does.
He loves righteousness and justice; the earth is full of the Lord's unfailing love. 5 The LORD loves righteousness and justice; the earth is full of his unfailing love.
The heavens were made by the word of the Lord, and all the stars, by the breath of His mouth. 6 By the word of the LORD were the heavens made, their starry host by the breath of his mouth.
He gathers the waters of the sea into a heap; He puts the depths into storehouses. 7 He gathers the waters of the sea into jars; he puts the deep into storehouses.
Let the whole earth tremble before the Lord; let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of Him. 8 Let all the earth fear the LORD; let all the people of the world revere him.
For He spoke, and it came into being; He commanded, and it came into existence. 9 For he spoke, and it came to be; he commanded, and it stood firm.
The Lord frustrates the counsel of the nations; He thwarts the plans of the peoples. 10 The LORD foils the plans of the nations; he thwarts the purposes of the peoples.
The counsel of the Lord stands forever, the plans of His heart from generation to generation. 11 But the plans of the LORD stand firm forever, the purposes of his heart through all generations.
Happy is the nation whose God is the Lord- the people He has chosen to be His own possession! 12 Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD, the people he chose for his inheritance.
The Lord looks down from heaven; He observes everyone. 13 From heaven the LORD looks down and sees all mankind;
He gazes on all the inhabitants of the earth from His dwelling place. 14 from his dwelling place he watches all who live on earth--
He alone crafts their hearts; He considers all their works. 15 he who forms the hearts of all, who considers everything they do.
A king is not saved by a large army; a warrior will not be delivered by great strength. 16 No king is saved by the size of his army; no warrior escapes by his great strength.
The horse is a false hope for safety; it provides no escape by its great power. 17 A horse is a vain hope for deliverance; despite all its great strength it cannot save.
Now the eye of the Lord is on those who fear Him- those who depend on His faithful love 18 But the eyes of the LORD are on those who fear him, on those whose hope is in his unfailing love,
to deliver them from death and to keep them alive in famine. 19 to deliver them from death and keep them alive in famine.
We wait for the Lord; He is our help and shield. 20 We wait in hope for the LORD; he is our help and our shield.
For our hearts rejoice in Him, because we trust in His holy name. 21 In him our hearts rejoice, for we trust in his holy name.
May Your faithful love rest on us, Lord, for we put our hope in You. 22 May your unfailing love rest upon us, O LORD, even as we put our hope in you.
