Psalm 33 GNT/NIV - Online Parallel Bible

Good News Translation (GNT) New International Version (NIV)
All you that are righteous, shout for joy for what the Lord has done; praise him, all you that obey him. 1 Sing joyfully to the LORD, you righteous; it is fitting for the upright to praise him.
Give thanks to the Lord with harps, sing to him with stringed instruments. 2 Praise the LORD with the harp; make music to him on the ten-stringed lyre.
Sing a new song to him, play the harp with skill, and shout for joy! 3 Sing to him a new song; play skillfully, and shout for joy.
The words of the Lord are true, and all his works are dependable. 4 For the word of the LORD is right and true; he is faithful in all he does.
The Lord loves what is righteous and just; his constant love fills the earth. 5 The LORD loves righteousness and justice; the earth is full of his unfailing love.
The Lord created the heavens by his command, the sun, moon, and stars by his spoken word. 6 By the word of the LORD were the heavens made, their starry host by the breath of his mouth.
He gathered all the seas into one place; he shut up the ocean depths in storerooms. 7 He gathers the waters of the sea into jars; he puts the deep into storehouses.
Worship the Lord, all the earth! Honor him, all peoples of the world! 8 Let all the earth fear the LORD; let all the people of the world revere him.
When he spoke, the world was created; at his command everything appeared. 9 For he spoke, and it came to be; he commanded, and it stood firm.
The Lord frustrates the purposes of the nations; he keeps them from carrying out their plans. 10 The LORD foils the plans of the nations; he thwarts the purposes of the peoples.
But his plans endure forever; his purposes last eternally. 11 But the plans of the LORD stand firm forever, the purposes of his heart through all generations.
Happy is the nation whose God is the Lord; happy are the people he has chosen for his own! 12 Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD, the people he chose for his inheritance.
The Lord looks down from heaven and sees all of us humans. 13 From heaven the LORD looks down and sees all mankind;
From where he rules, he looks down on all who live on earth. 14 from his dwelling place he watches all who live on earth--
He forms all their thoughts and knows everything they do. 15 he who forms the hearts of all, who considers everything they do.
A king does not win because of his powerful army; a soldier does not triumph because of his strength. 16 No king is saved by the size of his army; no warrior escapes by his great strength.
War horses are useless for victory; their great strength cannot save. 17 A horse is a vain hope for deliverance; despite all its great strength it cannot save.
The Lord watches over those who obey him, those who trust in his constant love. 18 But the eyes of the LORD are on those who fear him, on those whose hope is in his unfailing love,
He saves them from death; he keeps them alive in times of famine. 19 to deliver them from death and keep them alive in famine.
We put our hope in the Lord; he is our protector and our help. 20 We wait in hope for the LORD; he is our help and our shield.
We are glad because of him; we trust in his holy name. 21 In him our hearts rejoice, for we trust in his holy name.
May your constant love be with us, Lord, as we put our hope in you. 22 May your unfailing love rest upon us, O LORD, even as we put our hope in you.
