Psalm 33 YLT/NIV - Online Parallel Bible

Young's Literal Translation (YLT) New International Version (NIV)
Sing, ye righteous, in Jehovah, For upright ones praise [is] comely. 1 Sing joyfully to the LORD, you righteous; it is fitting for the upright to praise him.
Give ye thanks to Jehovah with a harp, With psaltery of ten strings sing praise to Him, 2 Praise the LORD with the harp; make music to him on the ten-stringed lyre.
Sing ye to Him a new song, Play skilfully with shouting. 3 Sing to him a new song; play skillfully, and shout for joy.
For upright [is] the word of Jehovah, And all His work [is] in faithfulness. 4 For the word of the LORD is right and true; he is faithful in all he does.
Loving righteousness and judgment, Of the kindness of Jehovah is the earth full. 5 The LORD loves righteousness and justice; the earth is full of his unfailing love.
By the word of Jehovah The heavens have been made, And by the breath of His mouth all their host. 6 By the word of the LORD were the heavens made, their starry host by the breath of his mouth.
Gathering as a heap the waters of the sea, Putting in treasuries the depths. 7 He gathers the waters of the sea into jars; he puts the deep into storehouses.
Afraid of Jehovah are all the earth, Of Him are all the inhabitants of the world afraid. 8 Let all the earth fear the LORD; let all the people of the world revere him.
For He hath said, and it is, He hath commanded, and it standeth. 9 For he spoke, and it came to be; he commanded, and it stood firm.
Jehovah made void the counsel of nations, He disallowed the thoughts of the peoples. 10 The LORD foils the plans of the nations; he thwarts the purposes of the peoples.
The counsel of Jehovah to the age standeth, The thoughts of His heart to all generations. 11 But the plans of the LORD stand firm forever, the purposes of his heart through all generations.
O the happiness of the nation whose God [is] Jehovah, Of the people He did choose, For an inheritance to Him. 12 Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD, the people he chose for his inheritance.
From the heavens hath Jehovah looked, He hath seen all the sons of men. 13 From heaven the LORD looks down and sees all mankind;
From the fixed place of His dwelling, He looked unto all inhabitants of the earth; 14 from his dwelling place he watches all who live on earth--
Who is forming their hearts together, Who is attending unto all their works. 15 he who forms the hearts of all, who considers everything they do.
The king is not saved by the multitude of a force. A mighty man is not delivered, By abundance of power. 16 No king is saved by the size of his army; no warrior escapes by his great strength.
A false thing [is] the horse for safety, And by the abundance of his strength He doth not deliver. 17 A horse is a vain hope for deliverance; despite all its great strength it cannot save.
Lo, the eye of Jehovah [is] to those fearing Him, To those waiting for His kindness, 18 But the eyes of the LORD are on those who fear him, on those whose hope is in his unfailing love,
To deliver from death their soul, And to keep them alive in famine. 19 to deliver them from death and keep them alive in famine.
Our soul hath waited for Jehovah, Our help and our shield [is] He, 20 We wait in hope for the LORD; he is our help and our shield.
For in Him doth our heart rejoice, For in His holy name we have trusted. 21 In him our hearts rejoice, for we trust in his holy name.
Let Thy kindness, O Jehovah, be upon us, As we have waited for Thee! 22 May your unfailing love rest upon us, O LORD, even as we put our hope in you.
