The Darby Translation (DBY) New International Version (NIV)
{To the chief Musician. [A Psalm] of the servant of Jehovah; of David.} The transgression of the wicked uttereth within my heart, There is no fear of God before his eyes. 1 An oracle is within my heart concerning the sinfulness of the wicked: There is no fear of God before his eyes.
For he flattereth himself in his own eyes, [even] when his iniquity is found to be hateful. 2 For in his own eyes he flatters himself too much to detect or hate his sin.
The words of his mouth are wickedness and deceit: he hath left off to be wise, to do good. 3 The words of his mouth are wicked and deceitful; he has ceased to be wise and to do good.
He deviseth wickedness up on his bed; he setteth himself in a way that is not good: he abhorreth not evil. 4 Even on his bed he plots evil; he commits himself to a sinful course and does not reject what is wrong.
Jehovah, thy loving-kindness is in the heavens, and thy faithfulness [reacheth] unto the clouds. 5 Your love, O LORD, reaches to the heavens, your faithfulness to the skies.
Thy righteousness is like the high mountains; thy judgments are a great deep: thou, Jehovah, preservest man and beast. 6 Your righteousness is like the mighty mountains, your justice like the great deep. O LORD, you preserve both man and beast.
How precious is thy loving-kindness, O God! So the sons of men take refuge under the shadow of thy wings. 7 How priceless is your unfailing love! Both high and low among men find refuge in the shadow of your wings.
They shall be abundantly satisfied with the fatness of thy house; and thou wilt make them drink of the river of thy pleasures. 8 They feast on the abundance of your house; you give them drink from your river of delights.
For with thee is the fountain of life: in thy light shall we see light. 9 For with you is the fountain of life; in your light we see light.
Continue thy loving-kindness unto them that know thee, and thy righteousness to the upright in heart; 10 Continue your love to those who know you, your righteousness to the upright in heart.
Let not the foot of pride come against me, and let not the hand of the wicked drive me away. 11 May the foot of the proud not come against me, nor the hand of the wicked drive me away.
There are the workers of iniquity fallen: they are cast down, and are not able to rise. 12 See how the evildoers lie fallen-- thrown down, not able to rise!
