<The psalm of David, which he sung to the Lord, for the words of Chusi, the son of Jemini.> (7-2) O Lord, my God, in thee have I put my trust; same me from all them that persecute me, and deliver me. 1 O LORD my God, I take refuge in you; save and deliver me from all who pursue me,
(7-3) Lest at any time he seize upon my soul like a lion, while there is no one to redeem me, nor to save. 2 or they will tear me like a lion and rip me to pieces with no one to rescue me.
(7-4) O Lord, my God, if I have done this thing, if there be iniquity in my hands: 3 O LORD my God, if I have done this and there is guilt on my hands--
(7-5) If I have rendered to them that repaid me evils, let me deservedly fall empty before my enemies. 4 if I have done evil to him who is at peace with me or without cause have robbed my foe--
(7-6) Let the enemy pursue my soul, and take it, and tread down my life, on the earth, and bring down my glory to the dust. 5 then let my enemy pursue and overtake me; let him trample my life to the ground and make me sleep in the dust. "Selah"
(7-7) Rise up, O Lord, in thy anger: and be thou exalted in the borders of my enemies. And arise, O Lord, my God, in the precept which thou hast commanded: 6 Arise, O LORD, in your anger; rise up against the rage of my enemies. Awake, my God; decree justice.
(7-8) And a congregation of people shall surround thee. And for their sakes return thou on high. 7 Let the assembled peoples gather around you. Rule over them from on high;
(7-9) The Lord judgeth the people. Judge me, O Lord, according to my justice, and according to my innocence in me. 8 let the LORD judge the peoples. Judge me, O LORD, according to my righteousness, according to my integrity, O Most High.
(7-10) The wickedness of sinners shall be brought to nought; and thou shalt direct the just: the searcher of hearts and reins is God. Just 9 O righteous God, who searches minds and hearts, bring to an end the violence of the wicked and make the righteous secure.
(7-11) Is my help from the Lord; who saveth the upright of heart. 10 My shield is God Most High, who saves the upright in heart.
(7-12) God is a just judge, strong and patient: is he angry every day? 11 God is a righteous judge, a God who expresses his wrath every day.
(7-13) Except you will be converted, he will brandish his sword; he hath bent his bow, and made it ready. 12 If he does not relent, he will sharpen his sword; he will bend and string his bow.
(7-14) And in it he hath prepared to instruments of death, he hath made ready his arrows for them that burn. 13 He has prepared his deadly weapons; he makes ready his flaming arrows.
(7-15) Behold he hath been in labour with injustice: he hath conceived sorrow, and brought forth iniquity. 14 He who is pregnant with evil and conceives trouble gives birth to disillusionment.
(7-16) He hath opened a pit and dug it: and he is fallen into the hole he made. 15 He who digs a hole and scoops it out falls into the pit he has made.
(7-17) His sorrow shall be turned on his own head: and his iniquity shall come down upon his crown. 16 The trouble he causes recoils on himself; his violence comes down on his own head.
(7-18) I will give glory to the Lord according to his justice: and will sing to the name of the Lord the most high. 17 I will give thanks to the LORD because of his righteousness and will sing praise to the name of the LORD Most High.
