Common English Bible (CEB) New International Version (NIV)
LORD, listen closely to me and answer me, because I am poor and in need. 1 Hear, O LORD, and answer me, for I am poor and needy.
Guard my life because I am faithful. Save your servant who trusts in you—you! My God! 2 Guard my life, for I am devoted to you. You are my God; save your servant who trusts in you.
Have mercy on me, Lord, because I cry out to you all day long. 3 Have mercy on me, O Lord, for I call to you all day long.
Make your servant's life happy again because, my Lord, I offer my life to you, 4 Bring joy to your servant, for to you, O Lord, I lift up my soul.
because, my Lord, you are good and forgiving, full of faithful love for all those who cry out to you. 5 You are forgiving and good, O Lord, abounding in love to all who call to you.
Listen closely to my prayer, LORD; pay close attention to the sound of my requests for mercy. 6 Hear my prayer, O LORD; listen to my cry for mercy.
Whenever I am in trouble, I cry out to you, because you will answer me. 7 In the day of my trouble I will call to you, for you will answer me.
My Lord! There is no one like youamong the gods! There is nothing that can compare to your works! 8 Among the gods there is none like you, O Lord; no deeds can compare with yours.
All the nations that you've made will come and bow down before you, Lord; they will glorify your name, 9 All the nations you have made will come and worship before you, O Lord; they will bring glory to your name.
because you are awesome and a wonder-worker. You are God. Just you. 10 For you are great and do marvelous deeds; you alone are God.
Teach me your way, LORD, so that I can walk in your truth. Make my heart focused only on honoring your name. 11 Teach me your way, O LORD, and I will walk in your truth; give me an undivided heart, that I may fear your name.
I give thanks to you, my Lord, my God, with all my heart, and I will glorify your name forever, 12 I will praise you, O Lord my God, with all my heart; I will glorify your name forever.
because your faithful love toward me is awesome and because you've rescued my life from the lowest part of hell. 13 For great is your love toward me; you have delivered me from the depths of the grave.
The arrogant rise up against me, God. A gang of violent people want me dead. They don't give a thought for you. 14 The arrogant are attacking me, O God; a band of ruthless men seeks my life-- men without regard for you.
But you, my Lord, are a God of compassion and mercy; you are very patient and full of faithful love. 15 But you, O Lord, are a compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness.
Come back to me! Have mercy on me! Give your servant your strength; save this child of your servant! 16 Turn to me and have mercy on me; grant your strength to your servant and save the son of your maidservant.
Show me a sign of your goodness so that those who hate me will see it and be put to shame— show a sign that you, LORD, have helped me and comforted me. 17 Give me a sign of your goodness, that my enemies may see it and be put to shame, for you, O LORD, have helped me and comforted me.
