The Darby Translation (DBY) New International Version (NIV)
But I commend to you Phoebe, our sister, who is minister of the assembly which is in Cenchrea; 1 I commend to you our sister Phoebe, a servant of the church in Cenchrea.
that ye may receive her in [the] Lord worthily of saints, and that ye may assist her in whatever matter she has need of you; for *she* also has been a helper of many, and of myself. 2 I ask you to receive her in the Lord in a way worthy of the saints and to give her any help she may need from you, for she has been a great help to many people, including me.
Salute Prisca and Aquila, my fellow-workmen in Christ Jesus, 3 Greet Priscilla and Aquila, my fellow workers in Christ Jesus.
(who for my life staked their own neck; to whom not *I* only am thankful, but also all the assemblies of the nations,) 4 They risked their lives for me. Not only I but all the churches of the Gentiles are grateful to them.
and the assembly at their house. Salute Epaenetus, my beloved, who is [the] first-fruits of Asia for Christ. 5 Greet also the church that meets at their house. Greet my dear friend Epenetus, who was the first convert to Christ in the province of Asia.
Salute Maria, who laboured much for you. 6 Greet Mary, who worked very hard for you.
Salute Andronicus and Junias, my kinsmen and fellow-captives, who are of note among the apostles; who were also in Christ before me. 7 Greet Andronicus and Junias, my relatives who have been in prison with me. They are outstanding among the apostles, and they were in Christ before I was.
Salute Amplias, my beloved in the Lord. 8 Greet Ampliatus, whom I love in the Lord.
Salute Urbanus, our fellow-workman in Christ, and Stachys, my beloved. 9 Greet Urbanus, our fellow worker in Christ, and my dear friend Stachys.
Salute Apelles, approved in Christ. Salute those who belong to Aristobulus. 10 Greet Apelles, tested and approved in Christ.
Salute Herodion, my kinsman. Salute those who belong to Narcissus, who are in [the] Lord. 11 Greet Herodion, my relative. Greet those in the household of Narcissus who are in the Lord.
Salute Tryphaena and Tryphosa, who labour in [the] Lord. Salute Persis, the beloved, who has laboured much in [the] Lord. 12 Greet Tryphena and Tryphosa, those women who work hard in the Lord. Greet my dear friend Persis, another woman who has worked very hard in the Lord.
Salute Rufus, chosen in [the] Lord; and his mother and mine. 13 Greet Rufus, chosen in the Lord, and his mother, who has been a mother to me, too.
Salute Asyncritus, Phlegon, Hermes, Patrobas, Hermas, and the brethren with them. 14 Greet Asyncritus, Phlegon, Hermes, Patrobas, Hermas and the brothers with them.
Salute Philologus, and Julia, Nereus, and his sister, and Olympas, and all the saints with them. 15 Greet Philologus, Julia, Nereus and his sister, and Olympas and all the saints with them.
Salute one another with a holy kiss. All the assemblies of Christ salute you. 16 Greet one another with a holy kiss. All the churches of Christ send greetings.
But I beseech you, brethren, to consider those who create divisions and occasions of falling, contrary to the doctrine which *ye* have learnt, and turn away from them. 17 I urge you, brothers, to watch out for those who cause divisions and put obstacles in your way that are contrary to the teaching you have learned. Keep away from them.
For such serve not our Lord Christ, but their own belly, and by good words and fair speeches deceive the hearts of the unsuspecting. 18 For such people are not serving our Lord Christ, but their own appetites. By smooth talk and flattery they deceive the minds of naive people.
For your obedience has reached to all. I rejoice therefore as it regards you; but I wish you to be wise [as] to that which is good, and simple [as] to evil. 19 Everyone has heard about your obedience, so I am full of joy over you; but I want you to be wise about what is good, and innocent about what is evil.
But the God of peace shall bruise Satan under your feet shortly. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ [be] with you. 20 The God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet. The grace of our Lord Jesus be with you.
Timotheus, my fellow-workman, and Lucius, and Jason, and Sosipater, my kinsmen, salute you. 21 Timothy, my fellow worker, sends his greetings to you, as do Lucius, Jason and Sosipater, my relatives.
I Tertius, who have written this epistle, salute you in [the] Lord. 22 I, Tertius, who wrote down this letter, greet you in the Lord.
Gaius, my host and of the whole assembly, salutes you. Erastus, the steward of the city, salutes you, and the brother Quartus. 23 Gaius, whose hospitality I and the whole church here enjoy, sends you his greetings. Erastus, who is the city's director of public works, and our brother Quartus send you their greetings.
The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ [be] with you all. Amen. 24 Now to him who is able to establish you by my gospel and the proclamation of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery hidden for long ages past,
Now to him that is able to establish you, according to my glad tidings and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to [the] revelation of [the] mystery, as to which silence has been kept in [the] times of the ages, 25 but now revealed and made known through the prophetic writings by the command of the eternal God, so that all nations might believe and obey him--
but [which] has now been made manifest, and by prophetic scriptures, according to commandment of the eternal God, made known for obedience of faith to all the nations -- 26 to the only wise God be glory forever through Jesus Christ! Amen.
[the] only wise God, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory for ever. Amen. 27
