1 Giubilate, o giusti, nell’Eterno; la lode s’addice agli uomini retti.
|
1 Sing joyfully to the LORD, you righteous; it is fitting for the upright to praise him.
|
|
2 Celebrate l’Eterno con la cetra; salmeggiate a lui col saltèro a dieci corde.
|
2 Praise the LORD with the harp; make music to him on the ten-stringed lyre.
|
|
3 Cantategli un cantico nuovo, sonate maestrevolmente con giubilo.
|
3 Sing to him a new song; play skillfully, and shout for joy.
|
|
4 Poiché la parola dell’Eterno è diritta e tutta l’opera sua è fatta con fedeltà.
|
4 For the word of the LORD is right and true; he is faithful in all he does.
|
|
5 Egli ama la giustizia e l’equità; la terra è piena della benignità dell’Eterno.
|
5 The LORD loves righteousness and justice; the earth is full of his unfailing love.
|
|
6 I cieli furon fatti dalla parola dell’Eterno, e tutto il loro esercito dal soffio della sua bocca.
|
6 By the word of the LORD were the heavens made, their starry host by the breath of his mouth.
|
|
7 Egli adunò le acque del mare come in un mucchio; egli ammassò gli abissi in serbatoi.
|
7 He gathers the waters of the sea into jars; he puts the deep into storehouses.
|
|
8 Tutta la terra tema l’Eterno; lo paventino tutti gli abitanti del mondo.
|
8 Let all the earth fear the LORD; let all the people of the world revere him.
|
|
9 Poich’egli parlò, e la cosa fu; egli comandò e la cosa sorse.
|
9 For he spoke, and it came to be; he commanded, and it stood firm.
|
|
10 L’Eterno dissipa il consiglio delle nazioni, egli annulla i disegni dei popoli.
|
10 The LORD foils the plans of the nations; he thwarts the purposes of the peoples.
|
|
11 Il consiglio dell’Eterno sussiste in perpetuo, i disegni del suo cuore durano d’età in età.
|
11 But the plans of the LORD stand firm forever, the purposes of his heart through all generations.
|
|
12 Beata la nazione il cui Dio è l’Eterno; beato il popolo ch’egli ha scelto per sua eredità.
|
12 Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD, the people he chose for his inheritance.
|
|
13 L’Eterno guarda dal cielo; egli vede tutti i figliuoli degli uomini:
|
13 From heaven the LORD looks down and sees all mankind;
|
|
14 dal luogo ove dimora, osserva tutti gli abitanti della terra;
|
14 from his dwelling place he watches all who live on earth--
|
|
15 egli, che ha formato il cuore di loro tutti, che considera tutte le opere loro.
|
15 he who forms the hearts of all, who considers everything they do.
|
|
16 Il re non è salvato per grandezza d’esercito; il prode non scampa per la sua gran forza.
|
16 No king is saved by the size of his army; no warrior escapes by his great strength.
|
|
17 Il cavallo è cosa fallace per salvare; esso non può liberare alcuno col suo grande vigore.
|
17 A horse is a vain hope for deliverance; despite all its great strength it cannot save.
|
|
18 Ecco, l’occhio dell’Eterno è su quelli che lo temono, su quelli che sperano nella sua benignità,
|
18 But the eyes of the LORD are on those who fear him, on those whose hope is in his unfailing love,
|
|
19 per liberare l’anima loro dalla morte e per conservarli in vita in tempo di fame.
|
19 to deliver them from death and keep them alive in famine.
|
|
20 L’anima nostra aspetta l’Eterno; egli è il nostro aiuto e il nostro scudo.
|
20 We wait in hope for the LORD; he is our help and our shield.
|
|
21 In lui, certo, si rallegrerà il cuor nostro, perché abbiam confidato nel nome della sua santità.
|
21 In him our hearts rejoice, for we trust in his holy name.
|
|
22 La tua benignità, o Eterno, sia sopra noi, poiché noi abbiamo sperato in te.
|
22 May your unfailing love rest upon us, O LORD, even as we put our hope in you.
