He will defend the afflicted3 among the people and save the children of the needy;4 he will crush the oppressor.55
He will endureb6 as long as the sun, as long as the moon, through all generations.76
He will be like rain8 falling on a mown field, like showers watering the earth.
In his days the righteous will flourish;9 prosperity will abound till the moon is no more.

The kings of Tarshish12 and of distant shores13 will bring tribute to him; the kings of Sheba14 and Seba will present him gifts.1511

For he will deliver the needy who cry out, the afflicted who have no one to help.
He will take pity18 on the weak and the needy and save the needy from death.
He will rescue19 them from oppression and violence, for precious20 is their blood in his sight.
Long may he live! May gold from Sheba21 be given him. May people ever pray for him and bless him all day long.2216
Let grain23 abound throughout the land; on the tops of the hills may it sway. Let its fruit24 flourish like Lebanon;25 let it thrive like the grass of the field.2617
May his name endure forever;27 may it continue as long as the sun.28 All nations will be blessed through him, and they will call him blessed.2918
