1 When the LORD brought back1 the captives toa Zion, we were like men who dreamed.b 2 Our mouths were filled with laughter,2 our tongues with songs of joy.3 Then it was said among the nations, "The LORD has done great things4 for them." 3 The LORD has done great things5 for us, and we are filled with joy.6 4 Restore our fortunes,c7 O LORD, like streams in the Negev.8 5 Those who sow in tears9 will reap10 with songs of joy.11 6 He who goes out weeping,12 carrying seed to sow, will return with songs of joy, carrying sheaves with him.Scripture quoted by permission.
