The high mountains belong to the wild goats;1 the crags are a refuge for the coneys.a219
The moon marks off the seasons,3 and the sun4 knows when to go down.

You bring darkness,5 it becomes night,6 and all the beasts of the forest7 prowl.

The lions roar for their prey8 and seek their food from God.922
The sun rises, and they steal away; they return and lie down in their dens.1023
Then man goes out to his work,11 to his labor until evening.1224
How many are your works,13 O LORD! In wisdom you made14 them all; the earth is full of your creatures.1525
There is the sea,16 vast and spacious, teeming with creatures beyond number-- living things both large and small.1726
There the ships18 go to and fro, and the leviathan,19 which you formed to frolic20 there.2127
These all look to you to give them their food22 at the proper time.
