They worshiped their idols,7 which became a snare8 to them.

They sacrificed their sons9 and their daughters to demons.1038
They shed innocent blood, the blood of their sons11 and daughters, whom they sacrificed to the idols of Canaan, and the land was desecrated by their blood.

They defiled themselves12 by what they did; by their deeds they prostituted13 themselves.

Therefore the LORD was angry14 with his people and abhorred his inheritance.1541
He handed them over16 to the nations, and their foes ruled over them.

Their enemies oppressed17 them and subjected them to their power.

Many times he delivered them,18 but they were bent on rebellion19 and they wasted away in their sin.
