O God, whom I praise,1 do not remain silent,22
for wicked and deceitful men3 have opened their mouths against me; they have spoken against me with lying tongues.43
With words of hatred5 they surround me; they attack me without cause.64
In return for my friendship they accuse me, but I am a man of prayer.75
They repay me evil for good,8 and hatred for my friendship.
Appointa an evil manb to oppose him; let an accuserc9 stand at his right hand.
When he is tried, let him be found guilty,10 and may his prayers condemn11 him.
May his days be few;12 may another take his place13 of leadership.
May his children be fatherless and his wife a widow.1410
May his children be wandering beggars;15 may they be drivend from their ruined homes.
