View In My Bible

For the director of music. Of David. A psalm.

1 O God, whom I praise,1 do not remain silent,2 2 for wicked and deceitful men3 have opened their mouths against me; they have spoken against me with lying tongues.4 3 With words of hatred5 they surround me; they attack me without cause.6 4 In return for my friendship they accuse me, but I am a man of prayer.7 5 They repay me evil for good,8 and hatred for my friendship. 6 Appointa an evil manb to oppose him; let an accuserc9 stand at his right hand. 7 When he is tried, let him be found guilty,10 and may his prayers condemn11 him. 8 May his days be few;12 may another take his place13 of leadership. 9 May his children be fatherless and his wife a widow.14 10 May his children be wandering beggars;15 may they be drivend from their ruined homes.
