(The rest of the dead did not come to life until the thousand years were ended.) This is the first resurrection.16
Blessed2 and holy are those who have part in the first resurrection. The second death3 has no power over them, but they will be priests4 of God and of Christ and will reign with him5 for a thousand years.
When the thousand years are over,6 Satan will be released from his prison
and will go out to deceive the nations7 in the four corners of the earth8--Gog and Magog9--to gather them for battle.10 In number they are like the sand on the seashore.119
They marched across the breadth of the earth and surrounded12 the camp of God's people, the city he loves.13 But fire came down from heaven14 and devoured them.
And the devil, who deceived them,15 was thrown into the lake of burning sulfur,16 where the beast17 and the false prophet18 had been thrown. They will be tormented day and night for ever and ever.19
Then I saw a great white throne20 and him who was seated on it. Earth and sky fled from his presence,21 and there was no place for them.
And I saw the dead, great and small,22 standing before the throne, and books were opened.23 Another book was opened, which is the book of life.24 The dead were judged25 according to what they had done26 as recorded in the books.
The sea gave up the dead that were in it, and death and Hades27 gave up the dead28 that were in them, and each person was judged according to what he had done.2914
Then death30 and Hades31 were thrown into the lake of fire.32 The lake of fire is the second death.3315
If anyone's name was not found written in the book of life,34 he was thrown into the lake of fire.
