Be good to your servant1 while I live, that I may obey your word.218
Open my eyes that I may see wonderful things in your law.
I am a stranger on earth;3 do not hide your commands from me.
My soul is consumed4 with longing for your laws5 at all times.
You rebuke the arrogant,6 who are accursed,7 those who stray8 from your commands.
Remove from me their scorn9 and contempt, for I keep your statutes.1023
Though rulers sit together and slander me, your servant will meditate on your decrees.
Your statutes are my delight; they are my counselors.
