12 Bible Verses to Encourage You to Lean on God for Strength

Have you been feeling weak lately? Do you need a reminder that God is Your strength? Whether it is a season of hardship, a time of busyness, or a personal temptation you are trying to overcome, God meets us wherever we are in life. Throughout the Bible we are affirmed of the truth that we can lean on Him. No matter how strong we feel or how feeble we may be, Jesus is always waiting for us to come to Him.

Because God is our strength, we can have fullness of joy. In fact, He turns our sorrow into joy. He tells us to celebrate and receive His goodness knowing that He is the One whom we rely on.

The LORD God is my strength; He will make my feet like deers feet, and He will make me walk on my high hills” (Habakkuk 3:19).

God gives us stability and safety in trying times. Even when life around us appears to be dangerous or challenging, in the Lord’s strength, we can gracefully walk through.

That He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man” (Ephesians 3:16).

God gives us His Holy Spirit to be strong and mighty for us. His Spirit enables us to accomplish more than we ever could on our own.

“Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand” (Isaiah 41:10).

We do not have to be afraid or concerned when we have Christ. Our Lord is holding us up and helping us in all things. What a promise!

“Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might” (Ephesians 6:10).

Before listing the armor of God, the apostle Paul shares in this verse in Ephesians to be strong in the Lord. We do this by the Holy Spirit and putting on the armor of God daily. Sometimes we forget that we have access to His power to fight and stand against the enemy. The Lord not only is strong, He enables us to be strong as well.

“My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever” (Psalm 73:26).

We all fall short and sin. We physically and emotionally fail. This is the struggle of being human. We are sinners and we need a Savior. However, because of Jesus, even though we miss His perfect standard, we have eternal security and salvation in Him forever. We do not have to fear eternity because He is our strong and resurrected Savior.
