Éxodo 8:14-24

14 Y las juntaron en montones, y la tierra se corrompió.

15 Pero al ver Faraón que había alivio, endureció su corazón y no los escuchó, tal como el SEÑOR había dicho.

16 Entonces el SEÑOR dijo a Moisés: Di a Aarón: "Extiende tu vara y golpea el polvo de la tierra para que se convierta en piojos por toda la tierra de Egipto."

17 Y así lo hicieron; y Aarón extendió su mano con su vara, y golpeó el polvo de la tierra, y hubo piojos en hombres y animales. Todo el polvo de la tierra se convirtió en piojos por todo el país de Egipto.

18 Y los magos trataron de producir piojos con sus encantamientos, pero no pudieron; hubo, pues, piojos en hombres y animales.

19 Entonces los magos dijeron a Faraón: Este es el dedo de Dios. Pero el corazón de Faraón se endureció y no los escuchó, tal como el SEÑOR había dicho.

20 Y el SEÑOR dijo a Moisés: Levántate muy de mañana y ponte delante de Faraón cuando vaya al agua, y dile: "Así dice el SEÑOR: 'Deja ir a mi pueblo para que me sirva.

21 'Porque si no dejas ir a mi pueblo, he aquí, enviaré enjambres de insectos sobre ti, sobre tus siervos, sobre tu pueblo y dentro de tus casas; y las casas de los egipcios se llenarán de enjambres de insectos, y también el suelo sobre el cual están.

22 'Mas en aquel día yo pondré aparte la tierra de Gosén en la que mora mi pueblo, para que no haya allí enjambres de insectos, a fin de que sepas que yo, el SEÑOR, estoy en medio de la tierra;

23 y yo haré distinción entre mi pueblo y tu pueblo. Mañana tendrá lugar esta señal.'"

24 Y así lo hizo el SEÑOR. Y entraron grandes enjambres de insectos en la casa de Faraón y en las casas de sus siervos, y en todo el país de Egipto la tierra fue devastada a causa de los enjambres de insectos.

INTRODUCTION TO EXODUS 8

In this chapter Pharaoh is threatened with the plague of frogs, in case he refused to let Israel go, which accordingly was brought upon him, Ex 8:1-6 and though the magicians did something similar to it, yet these were so troublesome to Pharaoh, that he promised to let the people go, and sacrifice to God, if they removed; and a time being fixed for the removal of them, it was accordingly done at the entreaty of Moses and Aaron, Ex 8:7-14 but there being a respite, Pharaoh's heart was hardened, and the plague of lice is ordered, and which was executed; and though this the magicians essayed to do, and could not, but owned it to be the finger of God, yet Pharaoh's heart was hardened, Ex 8:15-19 wherefore he is threatened with a swarm of flies, which should not infest Goshen, only the places where the Egyptians dwelt, and it was so, Ex 8:20-24 upon which Pharaoh called for Moses, and declared himself willing the people would sacrifice in the land; but this not being satisfactory, he agreed they should go into the wilderness, but not so far; and on the account of the entreaty of Moses, the plague was removed; but still Pharaoh's heart was hardened, and he would not let the people go, Ex 8:25-32.
