Génesis 21:16-32

16 y ella fue y se sentó enfrente, como a un tiro de arco de distancia, porque dijo: Que no vea yo morir al niño. Y se sentó enfrente y alzó su voz y lloró.

17 Y oyó Dios la voz del muchacho que lloraba; y el ángel de Dios llamó a Agar desde el cielo, y le dijo: ¿Qué tienes, Agar? No temas, porque Dios ha oído la voz del muchacho en donde está.

18 Levántate, alza al muchacho y sostenlo con tu mano; porque yo haré de él una gran nación.

19 Entonces Dios abrió los ojos de ella, y vio un pozo de agua; y fue y llenó el odre de agua y dio de beber al muchacho.

20 Y Dios estaba con el muchacho, que creció y habitó en el desierto y se hizo arquero.

21 Y habitó en el desierto de Parán, y su madre tomó para él una mujer de la tierra de Egipto.

22 Aconteció por aquel tiempo que Abimelec, con Ficol, jefe de su ejército, habló a Abraham, diciendo: Dios está contigo en todo lo que haces;

23 ahora pues, júrame aquí por Dios que no obrarás falsamente conmigo, ni con mi descendencia, ni con mi posteridad, sino que conforme a la bondad que te he mostrado, así me mostrarás a mí y a la tierra en la cual has residido.

24 Y Abraham dijo: Yo lo juro.

25 Pero Abraham se quejó a Abimelec a causa de un pozo de agua del cual los siervos de Abimelec se habían apoderado.

26 Y Abimelec dijo: No sé quién haya hecho esto, ni tú me lo habías hecho saber, ni yo lo había oído hasta hoy.

27 Y Abraham tomó ovejas y vacas y se los dio a Abimelec. Y los dos hicieron un pacto.

28 Entonces Abraham puso aparte siete corderas del rebaño.

29 Y Abimelec dijo a Abraham: ¿Qué significan estas siete corderas que has puesto aparte?

30 Y él respondió: Tomarás estas siete corderas de mi mano para que esto me sirva de testimonio de que yo cavé este pozo.

31 Por lo cual llamó aquel lugar Beerseba , porque allí juraron los dos.

32 Hicieron, pues, un pacto en Beerseba; y se levantó Abimelec con Ficol, jefe de su ejército, y regresaron a la tierra de los filisteos.

INTRODUCTION TO GENESIS 21

This chapter gives an account of the conception, birth, circumcision, and weaning of Isaac, Ge 21:1-8; of the mocking of Ishmael, and of the casting out of him and his mother from Abraham's house, at the request of Sarah, which, though grievous to Abraham, he complied with at the direction of God, Ge 21:9-13; of the provision Abraham made for their departure, and of the supply they met with in the wilderness from God, where Ishmael was brought up, and where he married, Ge 21:14-21; and of a covenant between Abraham and Abimelech, king of Gerar, Ge 21:22-32; and of Abraham's planting a grove, and calling on the name of the Lord, Ge 21:33; and the chapter is closed with this observation, that Abraham sojourned in the land of the Philistines many days, Ge 21:34.
