Lucas 11:7

7 y aquél, respondiendo desde adentro, le dice: "No me molestes; la puerta ya está cerrada, y mis hijos y yo estamos acostados; no puedo levantarme para darte nada."

Luke 11:7

And he from within shall answer and say
The friend within doors, shall reply to him that is without at his door, in the street:

trouble me not;
by knocking at the door, and importuning to rise and lend loaves; whereby his rest would be disturbed, and trouble given him;

the door is now shut;
being very late at night, and which could not be opened without noise and inconvenience:

and my children are with me in bed:
sleeping, as the Persic version adds; there were none, children, or servants up, to let him in:

I cannot rise;
without disturbing them:

and give thee;
the loaves desired.

5 También les dijo: Supongamos que uno de vosotros tiene un amigo, y va a él a medianoche y le dice: "Amigo, préstame tres panes,
6 porque un amigo mío ha llegado de viaje a mi casa, y no tengo nada que ofrecerle";
7 y aquél, respondiendo desde adentro, le dice: "No me molestes; la puerta ya está cerrada, y mis hijos y yo estamos acostados; no puedo levantarme para darte nada."
8 Os digo que aunque no se levante a darle algo por ser su amigo, no obstante, por su importunidad se levantará y le dará cuanto necesite.
9 Y yo os digo: Pedid, y se os dará; buscad, y hallaréis; llamad, y se os abrirá.
