Marcos 9:6 Meaning and Commentary

Mark 9:6

For he wist not what to say
He did not know what he should say, or what was proper to be said by him, at such a time, in such circumstances, and before such persons;

for they were sore afraid.
The Persic version reads, "he was": and so the Latin translation of the Syriac, though that itself is, "they were"; for all three were filled with consternation at what they saw and heard; so that they were scarcely themselves, and knew not well what they said or did.

4 Y se les apareció Elías junto con Moisés, y estaban hablando con Jesús.
5 Entonces Pedro, interviniendo, dijo<***> a Jesús: Rabí, bueno es estarnos aquí; hagamos tres enramadas, una para ti, otra para Moisés y otra para Elías.
6 Porque él no sabía qué decir, pues estaban aterrados.
7 Entonces se formó una nube, cubriéndolos, y una voz salió de la nube: Este es mi Hijo amado, a El oíd.
8 Y enseguida miraron en derredor, pero ya no vieron a nadie con ellos, sino a Jesús solo.
