Matthew 5:27-30

Listen to Matthew 5:27-30

Adultery

27 You have heard that it was said, ‘Do not commit adultery.’ [a] 1
28 But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman to lust after her has already committed adultery with her in his heart.
29 If your right eye causes you to sin, gouge it out and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to be thrown into hell. [b]
30 And if your right hand causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to depart into hell.

Avoiding Lust Part 2
Avoiding Lust Part 2
Jeff Johnson

Marriage is God’s idea.  He designed the union of a man and a woman to be a permanent lifetime commitment.  He underscores that without commitment, you can’t establish trust and without trust, there can’t be true intimacy. When the trust is broken by adultery it’s extremely devastating.  Just look around for evidence of that! Pastor Jeff Johnson is teaching through the Sermon on the Mount and today on Sound Doctrine we come to the subject of Adultery and Lust.

Avoiding Lust Part 1

Adultery is occurring at an alarming rate in today’s world.  It’s even portrayed in such a way on TV as if it’s perfectly acceptable and normal. But what they rarely show is the devastation that’s left behind. Today on Sound Doctrine we’ll see what God has to say on the subject and where it all starts in the heart.  While you may have never committed the physical act of adultery, have you ever looked at another person with lust in your heart?  Join pastor Jeff Johnson in Matthew chapter five for part one of, “Avoiding Lust!”
