Listen to Luke 10:9

Luke 10:9 Meaning and Commentary

Luke 10:9

And heal the sick that are therein
Of all their bodily diseases, which would not only show their power and warrant, theft mission and commission, but also their goodness and beneficence to men; and would be a sufficient return for what they ate and drank:

and say unto them;
not only to the sick that are healed, and those in the house in which they were, but to all the inhabitants of the city;

the kingdom of God is come nigh unto you:
the Gospel dispensation, the kingdom of the Messiah, and even the Messiah himself, as might be concluded from the miracles they wrought; and thus by their ministry and works, were they to go before Christ, and prepare his way.

Luke 10:9 In-Context

7 Remain in this house, eating and drinking whatever they set before you, for workers deserve their pay. Don't move from house to house.
8 Whenever you enter a city and its people welcome you, eat what they set before you.
9 Heal the sick who are there, and say to them, ‘God's kingdom has come upon you.'
10 Whenever you enter a city and the people don't welcome you, go out into the streets and say,
11 ‘As a complaint against you, we brush off the dust of your city that has collected on our feet. But know this: God's kingdom has come to you.'
