David prays for help against his enemies, ver. 1 - 3.
Comforts himself with the assurance of deliverance, ver. 4 - 7.
To the chief musician on Neginoth, Maschil, A psalm of David, when the Ziphim came and said to Saul, Doth not David hide himself with us.
Verses:
54:1Name - By thy own strength. Judge - Plead my cause.
54:3Strangers - The Zephites, whom, though Israelites, he calls strangers in regard of their barbarous and perfidious carriage.
54:5Thy truth - Whereby thou art engaged to fulfil thy promises and threatenings.
