34 井 主 要 拿 錢 賠 還 本 主 人 ， 死 牲 畜 要 歸 自 己 。

Exodus 21:34

The owner of the pit shall make it good
Repair the loss of the ox or ass:

and give the money unto the owner of them:
the price of them, what they are worth: the Targum of Jonathan is,

``the owner of the pit shall pay the silver, he shall return to its owner the price of the ox or ass:''

and the dead beast shall be his;
either the owner of the pit; who pays the full value for the ox or ass killed, which seems but reasonable; or

``the injured person as Jarchi, for he says, they reckon or estimate the carcass, and he takes it for the price;''

that is, for part of the price it is valued at.

32 牛 若 觸 了 奴 僕 或 是 婢 女 ， 必 將 銀 子 三 十 舍 客 勒 給 他 們 的 主 人 ， 也 要 用 石 頭 把 牛 打 死 。

33 人 若 敞 著 井 口 ， 或 挖 井 不 遮 蓋 ， 有 牛 或 驢 掉 在 裡 頭 ，

34 井 主 要 拿 錢 賠 還 本 主 人 ， 死 牲 畜 要 歸 自 己 。

35 這 人 的 牛 若 傷 了 那 人 的 牛 ， 以 至 於 死 ， 他 們 要 賣 了 活 牛 ， 平 分 價 值 ， 也 要 平 分 死 牛 。

36 人 若 知 道 這 牛 素 來 是 觸 人 的 ， 主 人 竟 不 把 牛 拴 著 ， 他 必 要 以 牛 還 牛 ， 死 牛 要 歸 自 己 。
