12 他 瑪 說 ： 我 哥 哥 ， 不 要 玷 辱 我 。 以 色 列 人 中 不 當 這 樣 行 ， 你 不 要 做 這 醜 事 ；

2 Samuel 13:12

And she answered him, nay, my brother
Which carried in it a reason sufficient for her denial, that he was her brother, and she his sister, and therefore should not offer such an indignity to her:

do not force me;
which was another forbidding expression, signifying she would never freely yield to his will; and to force her, to defile her against her will, to commit a rape upon her, would be very criminal indeed:

for no such thing ought to be done in Israel;
among God's professing people, who were better taught and instructed; and to give into such impure practices would bring a dishonour upon them, and upon the religion they professed; she urges the honour of religion, and the reputation of Israel, and the glory of the God of Israel:

do not thou this folly:
as all sin is, especially such an impure and indecent action as this.

10 暗 嫩 對 他 瑪 說 ： 你 把 食 物 拿 進 臥 房 ， 我 好 從 你 手 裡 接 過 來 吃 。 他 瑪 就 把 所 做 的 餅 拿 進 臥 房 ， 到 他 哥 哥 暗 嫩 那 裡 ，

11 拿 著 餅 上 前 給 他 吃 ， 他 便 拉 住 他 瑪 ， 說 ： 我 妹 妹 ， 你 來 與 我 同 寢 。

12 他 瑪 說 ： 我 哥 哥 ， 不 要 玷 辱 我 。 以 色 列 人 中 不 當 這 樣 行 ， 你 不 要 做 這 醜 事 ；

13 你 玷 辱 了 我 ， 我 何 以 掩 蓋 我 的 羞 恥 呢 ？ 你 在 以 色 列 中 也 成 了 愚 妄 人 。 你 可 以 求 王 ， 他 必 不 禁 止 我 歸 你 。

14 但 暗 嫩 不 肯 聽 他 的 話 ， 因 比 他 力 大 ， 就 玷 辱 他 ， 與 他 同 寢 。
