7 摩 西 召 了 約 書 亞 來 ， 在 以 色 列 眾 人 眼 前 對 他 說 ： 你 當 剛 強 壯 膽 ！ 因 為 ， 你 要 和 這 百 姓 一 同 進 入 耶 和 華 向 他 們 列 祖 起 誓 應 許 所 賜 之 地 ； 你 也 要 使 他 們 承 受 那 地 為 業 。

Deuteronomy 31:7

And Moses called unto Joshua
Who might be at some distance from him, with the tribe to which he belonged. The Targum of Jonathan adds,

``out of the midst of the people:''

and said unto him, in the sight of all Israel;
now assembled together, and what follows was said in their hearing, to make him the more respectable to them:

be strong and of a good courage;
the same that is said to the people in ( Deuteronomy 31:6 ) , and which was still more necessary in him, who was to be their general, and to go at the head of them, and lead them on to battle; and though Joshua was a man of courage and valour, as well as had military skill, as appears by his fight with Amalek, ( Exodus 17:9-13 ) ; yet such an exhortation was not needless, seeing he had so much work to do, and so many enemies to contend with:

for thou must go with this people unto the land which the Lord hath
sworn unto their fathers to give them, and thou shalt cause them to
inherit it;
the Targum of Jonathan is,

``which the Word of the Lord hath sworn to give;''

the land of Canaan, thither he must go with them; this was the will and determination of God, and he must go alone without him, Moses, which would be a trial of his courage.

6 你 們 當 剛 強 壯 膽 ， 不 要 害 怕 ， 也 不 要 畏 懼 他 們 ， 因 為 耶 和 華 ─ 你 的 　 神 和 你 同 去 。 他 必 不 撇 下 你 ， 也 不 丟 棄 你 。

8 耶 和 華 必 在 你 前 面 行 ； 他 必 與 你 同 在 ， 必 不 撇 下 你 ， 也 不 丟 棄 你 。 不 要 懼 怕 ， 也 不 要 驚 惶 。

9 摩 西 將 這 律 法 寫 出 來 ， 交 給 抬 耶 和 華 約 櫃 的 祭 司 利 未 子 孫 和 以 色 列 的 眾 長 老 。
