5 在 這 地 方 ， 神 並 沒 有 給 他 產 業 ， 連 立 足 之 地 也 沒 有 給 他 ； 但 應 許 要 將 這 地 賜 給 他 和 他 的 後 裔 為 業 ； 那 時 他 還 沒 有 兒 子 。

Acts 7:5

And he gave him none inheritance in it
To be personally enjoyed by him; and which was a great trial to Abraham's faith, to be brought out of his country, and into another land, and which was promised to him and his; and yet, as not the whole, so not a single part of it was given him to possess:

no, not so much as to set his foot on:
so that when Sarah his wife died, he was obliged to buy a piece of ground for a burying place to bury her in: and which could not be said to be given him by the Lord, for he bought it with his money:

yet he promised that he would give it to him for a possession, and
to his seed after him, when as yet he had no child;
which was another exercise of Abraham's faith, that he should have a whole country promised him and his seed, and yet had no seed given him; see ( Genesis 12:7 ) ( 13:15 ) ( Genesis 15:2 Genesis 15:3 Genesis 15:7 ) .

3 對 他 說 ： 你 要 離 開 本 地 和 親 族 ， 往 我 所 要 指 示 你 的 地 方 去 。

4 他 就 離 開 迦 勒 底 人 之 地 ， 住 在 哈 蘭 。 他 父 親 死 了 以 後 ， 神 使 他 從 那 裡 搬 到 你 們 現 在 所 住 之 地 。

6 神 說 ： 他 的 後 裔 必 寄 居 外 邦 ， 那 裡 的 人 要 叫 他 們 作 奴 僕 ， 苦 待 他 們 四 百 年 。

7 神 又 說 ： 使 他 們 作 奴 僕 的 那 國 ， 我 要 懲 罰 。 以 後 他 們 要 出 來 ， 在 這 地 方 事 奉 我 。
