16 耶 利 米 來 到 獄 中 ， 進 入 牢 房 ， 在 那 裡 囚 了 多 日 。

Jeremiah 37:16

When Jeremiah was entered into the dungeon
Or, "into the house of the pit" ^F12; a dungeon, like a pit or ditch, dark, dirty, or dismal: and into the cabins;
or "cells" ^F13; into a place more inward than the cells, as the Targum; into the innermost and worst part in all the prison, where a man could not well lie, sit, nor stand: and Jeremiah had remained there many days;
in this very uncomfortable condition; very probably till the Chaldean army returned to Jerusalem, as he foretold it should.

14 耶 利 米 說 ： 你 這 是 謊 話 ， 我 並 不 是 投 降 迦 勒 底 人 。 伊 利 雅 不 聽 他 的 話 ， 就 拿 住 他 ， 解 到 首 領 那 裡 。

15 首 領 惱 怒 耶 利 米 ， 就 打 了 他 ， 將 他 囚 在 文 士 約 拿 單 的 房 屋 中 ， 因 為 他 們 以 這 房 屋 當 作 監 牢 。

16 耶 利 米 來 到 獄 中 ， 進 入 牢 房 ， 在 那 裡 囚 了 多 日 。

17 西 底 家 王 打 發 人 提 出 他 來 ， 在 自 己 的 宮 內 私 下 問 他 說 ： 從 耶 和 華 有 甚 麼 話 臨 到 沒 有 ？ 耶 利 米 說 ： 有 ！ 又 說 ： 你 必 交 在 巴 比 倫 王 手 中 。

18 耶 利 米 又 對 西 底 家 王 說 ： 我 在 甚 麼 事 上 得 罪 你 ， 或 你 的 臣 僕 ， 或 這 百 姓 ， 你 竟 將 我 囚 在 監 裡 呢 ？
