Ezekiel 29:9

And the land of Egypt shall be desolate and waste
Men few or none being left in it, to till it, nor cattle found upon it: and they shall know that I am the Lord;
by these judgments executed upon them, now foretold; and which when come to pass, they will be obliged to acknowledge the omniscience and omnipotence of Jehovah: because thou hast said, the river is mine, and I have made it;
(See Gill on Ezekiel 29:3); this insolent expression was highly resented by the Lord, as appears by the repetition of it. The Targum is here, as before,

``the kingdom is mine, and I have subdued it;''

but, notwithstanding this vaunt, he could not keep it.

8 所 以 主 耶 和 華 如 此 說 ： 我 必 使 刀 劍 臨 到 你 ， 從 你 中 間 將 人 與 牲 畜 剪 除 。

9 埃 及 地 必 荒 廢 淒 涼 ， 他 們 就 知 道 我 是 耶 和 華 。 因 為 法 老 說 ： 這 河 是 我 的 ， 是 我 所 造 的 ，

10 所 以 我 必 與 你 並 你 的 江 河 為 敵 ， 使 埃 及 地 ， 從 色 弗 尼 塔 直 到 古 實 境 界 ， 全 然 荒 廢 淒 涼 。

11 人 的 腳 、 獸 的 蹄 都 不 經 過 ， 四 十 年 之 久 並 無 人 居 住 。
