11 我 兒 ， 你 要 作 智 慧 人 ， 好 叫 我 的 心 歡 喜 ， 使 我 可 以 回 答 那 譏 誚 我 的 人 。

Proverbs 27:11

My son, be wise, and make my heart glad
That is, show thyself to be a wise man by thy words and actions; endeavour to get a good share of wisdom and knowledge, and make a good use of it, and that will rejoice my heart; as nothing more gladdens the heart of a parent than the wisdom and prudent behaviour of his son; see ( Proverbs 10:1 ) ( Proverbs 23:15 Proverbs 23:24 Proverbs 23:25 ) ;

that I may answer him that reproacheth me;
with begetting a foolish son, or a wicked man; or making him such by ill examples; or through neglect of education; or by using too much severity in it.

9 膏 油 與 香 料 使 人 心 喜 悅 ； 朋 友 誠 實 的 勸 教 也 是 如 此 甘 美 。

10 你 的 朋 友 和 父 親 的 朋 友 ， 你 都 不 可 離 棄 。 你 遭 難 的 日 子 ， 不 要 上 弟 兄 的 家 去 ； 相 近 的 鄰 舍 強 如 遠 方 的 弟 兄 。

12 通 達 人 見 禍 藏 躲 ； 愚 蒙 人 前 往 受 害 。
