Lìdaìzhìxià 26

1 Yóudà zhòng mín lì yà mǎ xiè de érzi Wūxīyǎ ( yòu míng Yàsālìyǎ ) jiēxù tā fù zuò wáng , nàshí tā nián shí liù suì .

2 Yà mǎ xiè yǔ tā lièzǔ tóng shuì zhī hòu , Wūxīyǎ shōu huí Yǐlù réng guī Yóudà , yòu chóngxīn xiūlǐ .

3 Wū xī yǎ dēng jī de shíhou nián shí liù suì , zaì Yēlùsǎlĕng zuò wáng wǔ shí èr nián . tā mǔqin míng jiào yé kĕ lì yǎ , shì Yēlùsǎlĕng rén .

4 Wū xī yǎ xíng Yēhéhuá yǎn zhōng kàn wèi zhēng de shì , xiàofǎ tā fù yà mǎ xiè yīqiè suǒ xíng de .

5 Tōng xiǎo shén mò shì , Sājiālìyà zaì shì de shíhou , Wùxī yǎ déng yì xúnqiú shén . tā xúnqiú Yēhéhuá , shén jiù shǐ tā hēng tōng .

6 Tā chū qù gōngjī Fēilìshì rén , chāihuǐ le Jiātè chéng , yǎ bǐ ní chéng , hé Yàshítū chéng . zaì Fēilìshì rén zhōng , zaì Yàshítū jìng neì , yòu jiànzhù le xiē chéng .

7 Shén bāngzhu tā gōngjī Fēilìshì rén hé zhù zaì gū Ěr bā lì de a là bǎi rén , bìng mǐ wù ní rén .

8 Yàmén rén gĕi Wùxī yǎ jìn gòng . tāde míngsheng chuán dào Āijí , yīn tā shén shì qiángshèng .

9 Wù xī yǎ zaì Yēlùsǎlĕng de jiǎo mén hé gǔ mén , bìng chéngqiáng zhuǎn wān zhī chù , jiànzhù chéng lóu , qiĕ shén jiāngù .

10 Yòu zaì kuàngyĕ yǔ gāo yuán hépíng yuán , jiànzhù wàng lóu , wā le xǔduō jǐng , yīn tāde shēngchù shén duō . yòu zaì shān dì hé jiā mĕi zhī dì , yǒu nóngfū hé xiūlǐ pútaóyuán de rén , yīnwei tā xǐyuè nóng shì .

11 Wù xī yǎ yòu yǒu jūn bīng , zhào shū jì yéLìhé guān zhǎng Mǎxīyǎ suǒ shǔ diǎn de , zaì wáng de yī gè jiāng jūn Hānáníyǎ shǒu xià , fēnduì chū zhàn .

12 Zúzhǎng , dà néng yǒng shì de zǒng shǔ gōng yǒu èr qiā liù bǎi rén ,

13 Tāmen shǒu xià de jūn bīng gōng yǒu sān shí wàn qī qiā wǔ bǎi rén , dōu yǒu dà néng , shàn yú zhēng zhàn , bāngzhu wáng gōngjī chóudí .

14 Wū xī yǎ wèi quán jūn yùbeì dùnpái , qiāng , kuī , jiǎ , gōng , hé shuǎi shí de jī xián ,

15 Yòu zaì Yēlùsǎlĕng shǐ qiǎo jiàng zuò jīqì , ān zaì chéng lóu hé jiǎo lóu shàng , yòng yǐ shè jiàn fā shí . Wùxī yǎ de míngsheng chuán dào yuǎnfāng . yīnwei tā dé le fēicháng de bāngzhu , shén shì qiángshèng .

16 Tā jì qiángshèng , jiù xīn gāo qì ào , yǐzhì xíngshì xié pì , gānfàn Yēhéhuá tāde shén , jìn Yēhéhuá de diàn , yào zaì xiāngtán shàng shāoxiāng .

17 Jìsī Yàsālìyǎ shuaìlǐng Yēhéhuá yǒnggǎn de jìsī bā shí rén , gēnsuí tā jìn qù .

18 Tāmen jiù zǔdǎng Wùxī yǎ wáng , duì tā shuō , Wùxī yǎ a , gĕi Yēhéhuá shāoxiāng bú shì nǐde shì , nǎi shì Yàlún zǐsūn chéngjiē shèng zhí jìsī de shì . nǐ chū shèng diàn ba . yīnwei nǐ fàn le zuì . nǐ xíng zhè shì , Yēhéhuá shén bì bú shǐ nǐ dé róngyào .

19 Wù xī yǎ jiù fānù , shǒu ná xiāng lú yào shāoxiāng . tā xiàng jìsī fānù de shíhou , zaì Yēhéhuá diàn zhōng xiāngtán páng zhòng jìsī miànqián , é shàng hūrán fāchū dàmáfēng .

20 Dàjìsī Yàsālìyǎ hé zhòng jìsī guānkàn , jiàn tā é shàng fāchū dàmáfēng , jiù cuī tā chū diàn . tā zìjǐ yĕ jísù chū qù , yīnwei Yēhéhuá jiàng zāi yǔ tā .

21 Wù xī yǎ wáng zhǎngdà má fēng zhídào sǐ rì , yīncǐ zhù zaì biéde gōng lǐ , yǔ Yēhéhuá de diàn géjué . tā érzi Yuētǎn guǎnlǐ jiā shì , zhìlǐ guó mín .

22 Wù xī yǎ qíyú de shì , zì shǐ zhì zhōng dōu shì yà mó sī de érzi xiānzhī Yǐsaìyà suǒ jì de .

23 Wù xī yǎ yǔ tā lièzǔ tóng shuì , zàng zaì wáng líng de tiánjiān tā lièzǔ de fùndì lǐ . yīnwei rén shuō , tā shì zhǎngdà má fēng de . tā érzi Yuētǎn jiēxù tā zuò wáng .

Chapter 26

Uzziah's good reign in Judah. (1-15) Uzziah's attempt to burn incense. (16-23)

Verses 1-15 As long as Uzziah sought the Lord, and minded religion, God made him to prosper. Those only prosper whom God makes to prosper; for prosperity is his gift. Many have owned, that as long as they sought the Lord, and kept close to their duty, they prospered; but when they forsook God, every thing went cross. God never continues either to bless the indolent or to withhold his blessing from the diligent. He will never suffer any to seek his face in vain. Uzziah's name was famed throughout all the neighbouring countries. A name with God and good people makes truly honourable. He did not delight in war, nor addict himself to sports, but delighted in husbandry.

Verses 16-23 The transgression of the kings before Uzziah was, forsaking the temple of the Lord, and burning incense upon idolatrous altars. But his transgression was, going into the holy place, and attempting to burn incense upon the altar of God. See how hard it is to avoid one extreme, and not run into another. Pride of heart was at the bottom of his sin; a lust that ruins many. Instead of lifting up the name God in gratitude to him who had done so much for him, his heart was lifted up to his hurt. Men's pretending to forbidden knowledge, and seeking things too high for them, are owing to pride of heart. The incense of our prayers must be, by faith, put into the hands of our Lord Jesus, the great High Priest of our profession, else we cannot expect it to be accepted by God, ( Revelation 8:3 ) . Though Uzziah strove with the priests, he would not strive with his Maker. But he was punished for his transgression; he continued a leper to his death, shut out from society. The punishment answered the sin as face to face in a glass. Pride was at the bottom of his transgression, and thus God humbled him, and put dishonour upon him. Those that covet forbidden honours, forfeit allowed ones. Adam, by catching at the tree of knowledge which he might not eat of, debarred himself of the tree of life which he might have eaten of. Let all that read say, The Lord is righteous. And when the Lord sees good to throw prosperous and useful men aside, as broken vessels, if he raises up others to fill their places, they may rejoice to renounce all worldly concerns, and employ their remaining days in preparation for death.
