9 Rúcǐ kàn lái , zhè fúyin shì dān jiā gĕi nà shòu gēlǐ de rén má . bú yĕ shì jiā gĕi nà wèi shòu gēlǐ de rén má . yīn wǒmen suǒ shuō , Yàbólāhǎn de xìn , jiù suàn wéi tāde yì .

Luómǎshū 4:9 Meaning and Commentary

Romans 4:9

[Cometh] this blessedness then upon the circumcision [only]?
&c.] That is, upon the circumcised Jews; are they the only persons that partake of this happiness? the word "only" is rightly supplied, and is in the Claromontane exemplar used by Beza, and in the Vulgate Latin and Ethiopic versions:

or upon the uncircumcision also?
upon the uncircumcised Gentiles; do not they likewise share in this blessedness?

for we say, that faith was reckoned to Abraham for righteousness.
The design of these words with the following, is to prove that the blessing of justification belongs to Gentiles as well as Jews, and that it is by faith, and not by circumcision; which is done by observing the state and condition Abraham was in when justified.

7 Tā shuō , dé shèmiǎn qí guō , zhēgaì qí zuì de , zhè rén shì yǒu fú de .

8 Zhǔ bú suàn wéi yǒu zuì de , zhè rén shì yǒu fú de .

10 Shì zĕnme suàn de ne . shì zaì tā shòu gēlǐ de shíhou ne . shì zaì tā wèi shòu gēlǐ de shíhou ne . bú shì zaì shòu gēlǐ de shíhou , nǎi shì zaì wèi shòu gēlǐ de shíhou .

11 Bìngqiĕ tā shòu le gēlǐ de jìhào , zuò tā wèi shòu gēlǐ de shíhou yīn xìn chēng yì de yìnzhèng , jiào tā zuò yīqiè wèi shòu gēlǐ ér xìn zhī rén de fù , shǐ tāmen yĕ suàn wéi yì .
