Níxīmǐjì 13:23 Meaning and Commentary

Nehemiah 13:23

In those days also I saw Jews that married wives of Ashdod,
of Ammon, and of Moab.
] Ashdod, or Azotus, as it is called in ( Acts 8:40 ) , was one of the five cities of the Philistines; which, though none of the seven nations with whom marriage was forbid, yet it was very unfit and improper to marry with them, ( Judges 14:3 ) . This place was a mart of the Arabians ^F8, where they sold their goods, to which the Jews might resort, and thereby be ensnared into such marriages; and which with the Ammonites and Moabites were unlawful, ( Nehemiah 13:1 ) .

22 Wǒ fēnfu Lìwèi rén jiéjìng zìjǐ , lái shǒu chéng mén , shǐ ānxīrì wèi shèng . wǒde shén a , qiú nǐ yīn zhè shì jìniàn wǒ , zhào nǐde dà cíaì liánxù wǒ .

23 Nàxiē rìzi , wǒ yĕ jiàn Yóudà rén qǔ le Yàshítū , Yàmén , Móyē de nǚzi wèi qī .

24 Tāmende érnǚ shuōhuà , yī bàn shì Yàshítū de huà , bú huì shuō Yóudà de huà , suǒ shuō de shì zhào zhe gè zú de fāngyán .

25 Wǒ jiù chìzé tāmen , zhòuzǔ tāmen , dá le tāmen jǐ gèrén , bá xià tāmende tóufa , jiào tāmen zhǐ zhe shén qǐshì , bì bú jiāng zìjǐ de nǚér jià gĕi waìbāngrén de érzi , yĕ bú wèi zìjǐ hé érzi qǔ tāmende nǚér .
