Ezekiel 7:21

And I will give it into the hands of the strangers for a prey,
&c.] The Babylonians, who lived in a foreign country, and were strangers to the commonwealth of Israel; the temple was suffered of the Lord to fall into their hands as a prey; who spoiled it of all its riches and glory, and carried away the vessels of gold, of silver, and of brass, and other valuable things; see ( Jeremiah 52:17-23 ) ; and to the wicked of the earth for a spoil;
meaning the same persons, and the same thing, and the same use they should make of it; for not the wicked of the world in general are meant, but of the land, or this land; the land of Babylon, where the prophet was: and they shall pollute it;
by entering into it and spoiling it, by pillaging and burning it.

19 Ihr Silber werden sie auf die Gassen werfen, und ihr Gold wird als Unflat gelten; ihr Silber und ihr Gold wird sie nicht erretten können am Tage des Grimmes Jehovas; ihren Hunger werden sie damit nicht stillen und ihren Bauch davon nicht füllen. Denn es ist ein Anstoß zu ihrer Missetat gewesen.

20 Und seinen zierenden Schmuck, zur Hoffart hat es ihn gebraucht und ihre Greuelbilder, ihre Scheusale, haben sie daraus verfertigt; darum habe ich ihnen denselben zum Unflat gemacht.

21 Und ich will ihn der Hand der Fremden zur Beute geben und den Gesetzlosen der Erde zum Raube, daß sie ihn entweihen.

22 Und ich werde mein Angesicht von ihnen abwenden, daß sie meine verborgene Stätte entweihen; und Gewalttätige werden in dieselbe eindringen und sie entweihen.

23 Verfertige die Kette! Denn das Land ist voll Blutschuld, und die Stadt voll Gewalttat.
