34
For
1David did not ascend into the heavens, but he himself says,
2“‘The Lord said to my Lord, “Sit at my right hand,
35
until I make your enemies your footstool. ”’
36
Let all the house of Israel therefore know for certain that
3God has made him
4both Lord and Christ, this Jesus
5whom you crucified. ”
37
Now when
6they heard this they were cut to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, “Brothers,
7what shall we do? ”
38
And Peter said to them,
8“Repent and
9be baptized every one of you
10in the name of Jesus Christ
11for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive
12the gift of the Holy Spirit.
39
For
13the promise is for you and
14for your children and for all
15who are far off, everyone
16whom the Lord our God calls to himself. ”
40
And with many other words he bore witness and continued to exhort them, saying,
17“Save yourselves from this
18crooked generation. ”
41
So those who received his word were baptized, and
19there were added that day about three thousand souls.
The Fellowship of the Believers
42 And
20they devoted themselves to the apostles’
21teaching and the
22fellowship, to
23the breaking of bread and the prayers.
43
And awe came upon every soul, and
24many wonders and signs were being done through the apostles.
44
And all who believed were together and
25had all things in common.
