Mark 15:16-20

Listen to Mark 15:16-20

Jesus Is Mocked

16 1And the soldiers led him away inside 2the palace (that is, 3the governor’s headquarters), [a] and they called together the whole 4battalion. [b]
17 And they clothed him in 5a purple cloak, and twisting together a crown of thorns, they put it on him.
18 And they began to salute him, 6“Hail, King of the Jews! ”
19 And they were striking his head with a reed and 7spitting on him and 8kneeling down in homage to him.
20 And when they had 9mocked him, they stripped him of 10the purple cloak and put his own clothes on him. And they 11led him out to crucify him.
