Acts 13:44-52

Listen to Acts 13:44-52
The next Sabbath almost the whole city gathered to hear the word of the Lord.
1But 2when the Jews saw the crowds, they were filled with 3jealousy and began to contradict what was spoken by Paul, 4reviling him.
And Paul and Barnabas spoke out boldly, saying, “It was necessary that the word of God 5be spoken first to you. 6Since you thrust it aside and judge yourselves 7unworthy of eternal life, behold, we 8are turning to the Gentiles.
9For so the Lord has commanded us, saying, 10“‘I have made you 11a light for the Gentiles, that you may 12bring salvation to the ends of the earth. ’”
And when the Gentiles heard this, they began rejoicing and 13glorifying the word of the Lord, and as many as were appointed to eternal life believed.
And the word of the Lord was spreading throughout the whole region.
14But the Jews[a] incited the devout 15women of high standing and the leading men of the city, 16stirred up persecution against Paul and Barnabas, and 17drove them out of their district.
But they 18shook off the dust from their feet against them and went to Iconium.
And the disciples were filled 19with joy and 20with the Holy Spirit.
