6 Allora que’ presidenti, e satrapi, si radunarono appresso del re, e gli dissero così: Re Dario, possa tu vivere in perpetuo.

Daniel 6:6

Then these presidents and princes assembled together to the
king
Having consulted the matter, and agreed upon and formed a scheme among themselves, and drawn up a bill or decree in form, ready to be signed by the king, whom they hoped to persuade to it; and for that end they got together, and went in a body to him. The word ^F2 signifies to assemble in a tumultuous and noisy way; they thought, by their number and noise, their bustle and bluster, to carry their point. Ben Melech compares it with ( Psalms 2:2 ) : and said thus unto him, O King Darius, live for ever;
this they said as courtiers, professing subjection to him, and affection for him, wishing him health, long life, and happiness.

4 Perciò, i presidenti, e i satrapi, cercavano il modo di trovar qualche cagione contro a Daniele, intorno agli affari del regno; ma non potevano trovare alcuna cagione, nè misfatto; perciocchè egli era fedele, e non si trovava in lui alcun fallo, nè misfatto.

5 Allora quegli uomini dissero: Noi non possiamo trovar cagione alcuna contro a questo Daniele, se non la troviamo contro a lui intorno alla legge del suo Dio.

6 Allora que’ presidenti, e satrapi, si radunarono appresso del re, e gli dissero così: Re Dario, possa tu vivere in perpetuo.

7 Tutti i presidenti del regno, i magistrati, e i satrapi, i consiglieri, e i duchi, han preso consiglio di formare uno statuto reale, e fare uno stretto divieto che chiunque farà richiesta alcuna a qualunque dio, od uomo, fra qui e trenta giorni, salvo che a te, o re, sia gettato nella fossa dei leoni.

8 Ora, o re, fa’ il divieto, e scrivine lettere patenti, che non si possano mutare; quali son le leggi di Media, e di Persia, che sono irrevocabili.
