20 li darò, dico, in man de’ lor nemici, e in man di quelli che cercano l’anima loro; e i lor corpi morti saran per pasto agli uccelli del cielo, ed alle bestie della terra.

Jeremiah 34:20

I will even give them into the hand of their enemies
The Chaldeans, who were the enemies of the Jews, that were come from a far country to invade, dispossess, ravage, and plunder them; and what can be a greater punishment than to be given up into an enemy's hand, to be in his power, and at his mercy? and into the hand of them that seek their life;
not their wealth and substance only, but their lives also; nothing less will content them: and their dead bodies shall be for meat unto the fowls of the heaven,
and to the beasts of the earth;
not only such should be the cruelty of their enemies that sought their lives, that they should slay them with the sword, and give them no quarter; but such their inhumanity, that they should not suffer their carcasses to be buried, but leave them exposed to birds and beasts of prey; of the princes of Judah, see ( Jeremiah 52:10 ) .

18 E darò gli uomini che han trasgredito il mio patto, e non han messe ad effetto le parole del patto che aveano fatto nel mio cospetto, passando in mezzo delle parti del vitello che aveano tagliato in due, cioè:

19 i principi di Giuda, ed i principi di Gerusalemme, e gli eunuchi, e i sacerdoti, e tutto il popolo del paese, che son passati in mezzo delle parti del vitello;

20 li darò, dico, in man de’ lor nemici, e in man di quelli che cercano l’anima loro; e i lor corpi morti saran per pasto agli uccelli del cielo, ed alle bestie della terra.

21 Darò eziandio Sedechia, re di Giuda, e i suoi principi, in mano de’ loro nemici, e in man di quelli che cercano l’anima loro, e in man dell’esercito del re di Babilonia, che si è ora ritratto da voi.

22 Ecco, io do loro comandamento, dice il Signore; e li farò ritornare a questa città, ed essi la combatteranno, e la prenderanno, e l’arderanno col fuoco; io metterò eziandio in desolazione le città di Giuda, sì che niuno abiterà in esse.
