52 Ed egli domandò loro dell’ora ch’egli era stato meglio. Ed essi gli dissero: Ieri a sette ora la febbre lo lasciò.

John 4:52

Then inquired he of them the hour
He did not at all hesitate about the truth of it, or was in any surprise upon it; but that he might compare things together, he asked the exact time,

when he began to amend;
or grow better; for he seemed to think, that his recovery might be gradual, and not all at once, as it was:

and they said unto him, yesterday at the seventh hour;
which was one o'clock in the afternoon:

the fever left him;
entirely at once, so that he was perfectly well immediately.

50 Gesù gli disse: Va’, il tuo figliuolo vive. E quell’uomo credette alla parola che Gesù gli avea detta; e se ne andava.

51 Ora, come egli già scendeva, i suoi servitori gli vennero incontro, e gli rapportarono, e dissero: Il tuo figliuolo vive.

52 Ed egli domandò loro dell’ora ch’egli era stato meglio. Ed essi gli dissero: Ieri a sette ora la febbre lo lasciò.

53 Laonde il padre conobbe ch’era nella stessa ore, che Gesù gli avea detto: Il tuo figliuolo vive; e credette egli, e tutta la sua casa.

54 Questo secondo segno fece di nuovo Gesù, quando fu venuto di Giudea in Galilea.
