48 Laonde Abimelec salì in sul monte di Salmon, con tutta la gente ch’era con lui; e prese delle scuri in mano, e tagliò un ramo d’albero; e, toltolo, sel recò in ispalla; poi disse alla gente ch’era con lui: Quello che mi avete veduto fare, fatelo prestamente, come ho fatto io.

Judges 9:48

And Abimelech got him up to Mount Zalmon
A mountain near Shechem, and thought to be the same with Salmon in ( Psalms 68:14 ) which seems to have had its name from the shade of the trees which grew upon it:

he and all the people that were with him;
his whole army:

and Abimelech took an axe in his hand, and cut down a bough from the
trees;
which grew upon Mount Zalmon:

and took it, and laid it on his shoulders;
and carried it along with him:

and said unto the people that were with him, what ye have seen me do,
make haste, and do as I have done;
take an axe, and every man cut down a bough with all possible haste, and lay it on his shoulder.

46 E tutti gli abitanti della torre di Sichem, udito ciò, si ridussero nella fortezza del tempio d’El-berit.

47 E fu rapportato ad Abimelec, che tutti gli abitanti della torre di Sichem si erano adunati là.

49 Tutta la gente adunque tagliò anch’essa de’ rami, ciascuno il suo; poi, andati dietro ad Abimelec, posero quelli intorno alla fortezza, e arsero la fortezza sopra coloro che v’erano dentro; e tutti gli abitanti morirono anch’essi, in numero d’intorno a mille persone, tra uomini e donne.

50 Poi Abimelec andò a Tebes, e vi pose campo, e la prese.
